We are only five minutes walk from Windermere village and ten minutes walk to Bowness village and Lake Windermere. There are various shops, pubs and restaurant nearby. The Chestnuts offers a delightful homely atmosphere and a high standard of comfort and service. The guest house itself is a century old, enjoying both secluded gardens & private parking. Effort has been made to retain the character of a Victorian home whilst still offering all the modern comforts expected. All our rooms are en suite with bath and/or shower with king-size beds. A warm welcome awaits you at The Anchorage, our conveniently situated guest house, just two minutes' level walk from Ambleside village centre. Each of our centrally heated double rooms is tastfully decorated and comfortably furnished, with lovely view of the fells and surrounding countryside. Rose Cottage is a luxury 5 star self-catering holiday cottage located in the peaceful village of Hesket Newmarket nr Caldbeck in the Northern Fells of the Lake District.

With stunning views up to High Pike and Carrock Fell from the rear and over the village and surrounding countryside from the front, Rose Cottage is the perfect retreat for a break "away from it all".

The cottage dates back to circa 1770 but has been sympathetically restored in 2008. It retains many of the original property features such as exposed oak beams, stone fireplace, uneven walls, yet with all the modern luxuries you'd expect from a luxury holiday cottage. This is the perfect place to spend time in the Lake District with friends or family. We're DOG FRIENDLY too.
